Why In Person

Nothing beats being
in the same room.

Online coaching is great for flexibility. In person coaching is better for everything else. When a coach can watch your game live, catch a thinking pattern in the moment, and correct it right then and there, improvement happens faster.

Our in person sessions are deliberately small and structured. Students are grouped by level, coached by an expert, and given real games to apply what they learn before they leave the room.

👀

Real-time feedback on your actual games

A coach watching you play live catches mistakes and thinking patterns that no online session can replicate.

🤝

A genuine competitive environment

Playing against others in the same room creates a focus and competitive energy that makes every session more effective.

🏆

Structured pathway to tournaments

In person students get direct preparation for competitive play, with tournament exposure built into the program.

Current Programs

Two Locations.
One Standard.

Both programs follow the same structured ReelChess curriculum. Same quality, same coaches, same commitment to getting students genuinely better every term.

How Every Session Works

Four Parts.
Every Time.

Every ReelChess in person session follows the same four-part structure. Students always leave having learned something and applied it in a real game in the same session.

01
20 to 40 minutes

Theory and Strategy

Openings, tactics, endgames, and strategic planning. A new concept introduced and explained clearly before anything else happens.

02
20 to 60 minutes

Guided Game Play

Students apply the concepts from the theory session in supervised games. The coach watches and guides in real time.

03
15 to 30 minutes

Puzzle and Problem Solving

Pattern recognition exercises calibrated to each student's level. Two to three puzzles per week to build tactical vision.

04
5 to 10 minutes

Review and Reflection

Game analysis, key moments from the session, and a preview of what comes next. Students leave knowing exactly where they are.

Development Levels

Every Student Has
a Clear Path.

Students progress through levels based on skill and understanding, not attendance. You move up when you are ready, and every level has a clear outcome.

Level 1

Beginner

Perfect for students new to chess or with only casual experience. Every concept is introduced from first principles with no assumptions.

Rules and piece movement Check, checkmate, stalemate Basic tactics: forks, pins, skewers Opening principles and board control Simple endgame technique
Level 2

Intermediate

For students who know the rules and want to play with genuine strategy. This level bridges the gap between knowing how to play and actually understanding the game.

Tactical combinations and multi-move patterns Structured opening plans and repertoire Pawn structure and long-term planning Endgame principles and conversion Game analysis and self-improvement
Level 3

Advanced / Tournament Prep

For students with serious ambitions. This level prepares students for competitive tournament play and produces genuine rating improvement.
