Tuesday Chess at The Ponds is a structured weekly coaching session running directly at The Ponds High School. It is open to all students, from complete beginners through to players with competitive experience.
Every session follows the four-part ReelChess curriculum. Students are grouped by ability within the session so everyone is working at the right level, regardless of how long they have been playing.

Theory and Strategy
A new concept introduced, openings, tactics, endgames, or strategic principles depending on the term curriculum.
Guided Game Play
Students apply the theory in supervised games. The coach watches, guides, and corrects in real time.
Puzzle Training
Pattern recognition exercises calibrated to each student's level. Tactical vision built week by week.
Review
Key moments from the session, what to work on before next week, and a preview of what is coming.

Complete Beginners
Never played before? No problem. We start from first principles and move at the right pace. Many of our best students started knowing nothing.
Casual Players
Know how the pieces move but want to understand the game properly? This is exactly the right program. Structure turns casual players into real chess thinkers.
Competitive Students
Already playing in tournaments or want to start? Tuesday Chess provides the weekly structured training that competitive improvement requires.
Simple,
transparent pricing.
All prices are per student, per lesson, plus GST. Terms run 8 to 10 weeks. Students joining partway through receive a pro-rata fee. Payment accepted via Stripe, bank transfer, or PayPal.
